General Fixes
The installer now blocks installation or uninstallation if Omni Connect is currently running.
Reduced connection time to an Omni device that recently disconnected from the Omni One headset.
Custom game profiles now automatically display the game name with a [C] prefix to help distinguish them from official profiles—for example, [C] Skyrim VR.
Known Bugs
The controller test feature in SteamVR does not detect Omni One. This will be fixed in the next release.
Omni Connect v1.1.99
Settings File and Features
Legacy Mode Support:
Some older titles, such as Borderlands 2 VR, require both hand controllers to be detected by SteamVR before treadmill devices can function properly. Without this, the Omni may incorrectly replace a hand controller in-game. Officially supported games that require this feature will mention it in their game-specific instructions here. Users may enable this feature in the settings.txt file and restart SteamVR for it to take effect.
Note: If you wish to play on the Omni without both controllers powered on, ensure this feature is disabled. Otherwise, the Omni device will stay inactive while waiting for both controllers to activate.
Default Omni Selection:
For households with multiple Omni One units, users can specify a default Omni for Omni Connect to always connect to. This helps prevent the PC from pairing with the wrong unit.
Users may enable this feature in the settings.txt file and restart Omni Connect for it to take effect.
For detailed information on the above features and usage, refer to the settings.txt file located at:
[Your Drive, typically C:] \ProgramData\Virtuix\OmniConnect\Settings\settings.txt
SteamVR Requirement
SteamVR must be installed before installing Omni Connect. If the Omni Connect installer is launched first, it will prompt the user to install SteamVR and then exit.
Official Game Support
The following games have been added to the list of 35 officially supported titles, with included Game Profiles and Steam bindings that load automatically when the game is launched via Steam.
- Metro Awakening

- Borderlands 2 VR
Omni Connect v1.1.79 – Version Notes
Smart Steam Bindings
Official Game Profiles now come with built-in Steam bindings as part of the Omni One SteamVR driver, enabling a plug-and-play experience. If you do not have movement in an officially supported game, please check that the Official Omni One binding has activated in the SteamVR bindings page, and activate it if it has not. More profiles with associated Steam bindings will be included in future updates, expanding plug-and-play support for additional games. Let us know which games you'd like to see supported next!
Session End Bug Fixes
Resolved issues where session tracking sometimes failed to end correctly, which previously caused the session’s step count to go unsubmitted.
Omni Connect v1.1.51 – Version Notes
Standalone Application
Omni Connect is now a fully independent application that can run without requiring SteamVR to be open. By decoupling the two, it reduces the risk of one application causing crashes and issues in the other.
The included Omni One SteamVR Driver is now very minimal, which only reads and passes data from Omni Connect to Steam VR's input system for use in games.
Automatic Update Check
On launch, Omni Connect will check for updates (if an internet connection is available) and prompt the user to download the latest version if one is available.
Smart Game Profile Loading
Refer to the readme.txt located at C:\ProgramData\Virtuix\OmniConnect\GameProfile\readme.txt
for detailed guidance on creating profiles and understanding parameter definitions.
The previous method of manually editing params.txt files is now deprecated.
Game profiles (Stored in C:\ProgramData\Virtuix\OmniConnect\GameProfile\) are now automatically loaded when:
- SteamVR is running
- The user is logged into Omni Connect
- A Steam game is launched
Official game profiles (stored in "\GameProfile\official\" will be added as updates.
Custom profiles, if found, are prioritized over official profiles and can be edited at runtime.
They will also be loaded automatically by placing them in a "\GameProfile\custom\" folder.
Renamed Game Profile Parameters
-deadzone parameter has been renamed to -minspeed to more accurately reflect its function, e.g. -deadzone 0.3 would now be -minspeed 0.3.
The official game profiles included with Omni Connect and on Discord will reflect these changes.
For more information see the readme.txt in the installation location mentioned above.
Enhanced Tray Tool
The system tray icon now displays:
- The connected Omni’s serial number
- The currently active game profile
- An option to exit Omni Connect
Session Tracking Improvements
Gameplay sessions are now tracked per Steam game and uploaded once the game exits.
Only sessions lasting longer than 1 minute will be saved and uploaded; shorter sessions will be discarded.
Omni Connect v1.0.245
Improved Bluetooth pairing: Optimized the initial connection to the Omni for faster and more consistent bluetooth pairing of the Omni with both Pico (via Business Streaming) and Quest 3 (via Steam Link) setups, without the need for the -connect OmniOne-xxxxxx parameter in the params file. The -connect parameter will still work to connect to a specific Omni as a backup.
Omni Connect v1.0.202
Application Name Update: Renamed the application to Omni Connect.
Versioning Added: The version number is now displayed in multiple places, including the installer, installation process, and tray icon (on hover).
Parse Params Crash Fix: Fixed a null reference bug in array parsing that caused crashes during mid-game edits.
Default Params File Handling: Upon installation, the driver will add or overwrite the params.txt file with default settings to prevent crashes related to missing files. However, if params.txt is manually deleted, the driver will still crash on launch or during operation.
Hot Reload Frequency: Live updates to the params file now refresh every 1 second.
