How to Fix an Arm That Won’t Lock

Overview

At the end of your Omni One session, holding the shoulder button for about one second and moving the arm back to its starting position should cause it to lock automatically (Omni One Core users who have not yet updated their firmware may still have the click to lock or unlock functionality). If the arm is blocked and won’t lock properly, it’s usually due to a minor obstruction—most often dust buildup on the gate surface.

This is typically caused by a build-up of dust on the ramped surface of the gates. Even a light layer of dust can interfere with the arm’s ability to glide smoothly across the gate and lock into position.

Solution

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Expose the Gates

    • While the arm is unlocked and rotated away from the base, the gates will be in their raised position.

  2. Clean the Gate Surface

    • Use your finger or a soft cloth to gently wipe the top (ramped) surface of each gate.

    • You do not need any cleaning solution—just remove the dust or debris.

  3. Return the Arm

    • Swing the arm back across the cleaned gate surface.

    • It should now move smoothly into its starting position and lock automatically.
