The Omni One headset release version 1.104, released on July 9th, 2025, contained a defective firmware update which caused Omni One treadmill Bluetooth connections to fail. Upon installing the update, users experienced a failure to discover their treadmill via a Bluetooth scan and could not connect to the treadmill without power cycling by unplugging and reconnecting the rear power cable.
Affected users can remedy this issue by installing the latest Omni One release using their headset.
🤓 The steps involved are very specific due to the nature of the problem and must be completed carefully and with indicated timing for the process to succeed.
Please review in full before starting and proceed with care.
⌚15-20 minutes start to finish
Steps
- Unplug your Omni One treadmill by disconnecting the power cable
- Do not proceed until you have disconnected the power cable and the LED indicator on the treadmill base is dark
- In your Omni One headset, go to Settings > Device > Software Update. Click Check for Updates.
- Proceed to install available updates, allowing the process to complete and the headset to reboot automatically
- After reboot, return to check again for updates, and confirm you see Installed Version: 5288 (or a higher version)
- Power off the headset completely, along with any other devices that connect to the Omni (for example a PC used for PCVR via Omni Connect)
- Confirm that everything Omni-related is powered off (if you do not wish to power off your phone, at least ensure that the Omni One app is closed)
- Connect the rear power cable to the Omni One treadmill
- Power on the headset
When the headset is started, immediately open Settings > General > Omni Treadmill and ensure your headset shows as Connected
Open Settings > Device > Device Information. Ensure version numbers are shown for AGG 5340 Firmware Version and AGG 52833 Firmware Version. If AGG 5340 Firmware Version is 0.30, the defective firmware is present.
Open Settings > Device > Software Update and click Check for Updates. You should see the message “There is a required update of the Omni One software. Confirm to start the update.” Click Confirm to show update details.
On the Required System Updates dialog, click Install All to start the installation, but be prepared to immediately enact the next step.
⚡🔌Act quickly. You will see a “Performing Firmware Update” dialog with the message “Connecting”. Immediately remove your headset and disconnect the Omni power cable for 2 seconds before reconnecting it. This reboots the treadmill so the installation can proceed. (⚠️ This is a workaround to fix the current issue. Do not disconnect power during normal firmware updates. ⚠️)
The new firmware should now install. You may see a progress indicator with message “Installing”, or the headset may show “Connecting” for some time before the headset reboots. Either way, wait for the headset to reboot automatically. Firmware updates may take several minutes to finish, please be patient.
After the headset reboots, the initial firmware fix should be installed. Confirm this by checking Settings > Device > Device Information and the value for AGG 5340 Firmware Version. The fixed version is 0.31 or greater. If you still see 0.30, the fix failed. If so, please try again from the beginning, or contact Omni customer support for further assistance.
- Return to Settings > Device > Software Update and click Check for Updates. Start the update again as before.
- This time, DO NOT DISCONNECT POWER CABLE. Allow the update to proceed normally until the headset automatically reboots.
Upon reboot, enter the home environment and go to Settings > Device > Software Update and click Check for Updates. You should now see “You are on the most current version of the Omni One software.”
Open Settings > Device > Device Information. Confirm the following values are shown:
a) AGG 5340 Firmware Version → 0.31 or greater
b) AGG 52833 Firmware Version → 0.51 or greater
- If the expected versions are shown, your treadmill and headset have been returned to working condition. If one is not shown, try rebooting the headset. If it still does not show the correct versions, please contact Omni customer support for further assistance.
