Overview
If you're hearing background music during gameplay or having trouble hearing audio through your VR headset while using Omni One with SteamVR, this guide will help you resolve common audio issues quickly.
Issue 1: Background Music Keeps Playing During Gameplay
By default, Omni One plays ambient background music in the home environment—even while using SteamVR. If this music continues while you're playing a PC game, here's how to turn it off:
How to Turn Off Background Music:
Press the Omni Home Button
This opens the Omni system menu on your headset.
Click the Clock
Tap the time on the right-hand side of the Omni menu bar to open the Quick Settings panel.
Adjust Ambient Music Volume
Look for the Ambient Music slider under the Audio Controls section.
Slide it all the way to the left to mute the background music.
Issue 2: No Audio Playing in Your VR Headset
If you're not hearing any in-game audio while connected to SteamVR, the issue may be with your streaming software’s audio output settings.
How to Fix It:
Open Your Streaming Software Settings
This might be Pico Connect, Virtual Desktop, or Meta Air Link, depending on your headset.
Locate the Audio Output Setting
Find the audio output device option—this is often under "Sound Settings" or "Advanced."
Set Audio Output to 'Headset'
Change the output device to 'Headset' or the specific name of your VR headset’s audio device.
Apply and Restart If Needed
Save your changes and restart your game or streaming session.
