Overview
If you're experiencing connectivity or movement issues with your Omni One, a weak Bluetooth signal could be the cause. You can use a free diagnostic tool called ToolBlex to check the signal strength between your PC and your Omni One treadmill.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Download ToolBlex Bluetooth Signal Analyzer
-
Install the software on your Windows PC.
-
If Omni Connect is currently running on your PC, exit the application before launching ToolBlex.
Note: ToolBlex is a third-party utility used to scan and report signal strength (RSSI) for Bluetooth devices.
2. Launch ToolBlex and Check the RSSI (Signal Strength)
-
Open ToolBlex and start a Bluetooth scan.
-
Locate your Omni One from the list of nearby Bluetooth devices.
- Once your Omni One is selected, look for the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) value, which is displayed in dBm.
Signal Strength Guide:
-
✅ 0 to -30 dBm: Excellent signal—no issues expected.
-
⚠️ -30 to -60 dBm: Moderate signal—may result in intermittent movement issues.
-
❌ Worse than -60 dBm: Poor signal—likely connection failures.
Improving Your Signal
If your RSSI falls outside the optimal range:
-
Move Your Bluetooth Dongle:
Place your PC’s Bluetooth dongle closer to the power LED on your Omni One (this is where the Omni’s internal Bluetooth receiver is located). -
Use a USB Extender:
For best results, use a USB extension cable to reposition your Bluetooth dongle. This can significantly improve signal strength, especially in setups where the dongle is blocked or far from the Omni. -
Use 2.0 Ports:
We recommend using a USB 2.0 port and cable for the dongle and extender (not a USB 3.0 port, which is blue), as some 3.0 ports can cause interference. Ideally, avoid plugging anything into 3.0 USB ports on your PC where possible.
