How to Operate Multiple Omni Ones

If you are operating multiple Omni Ones in the same location, please follow the guidance below:

1] Ensure that there is at least 3’ of space between each Omni to avoid collisions between the players’ outstretched arms.

2] Each Omni must be on its own channel to prevent interference. It's currently not possible to change the radio channel without an Omni One headset. So, if you only have one Omni One headset, connect it to one of the treadmills using the Treadmill Manager found in the headset under Settings > General > Omni Treadmill.

If your Omni is not shown, make sure that your Omni hasn’t connected to the mobile app or Omni Connect on a PC (exit the app and close Omni Connect if it is running). If multiple Omni Ones are shown, select the correct treadmill and select ‘Connect to Treadmill.’ If you are connected to the wrong treadmill, select 'Disconnect from Treadmill.' Your treadmill number is on the product sticker on the Omni One base. If the stickers are missing, turn one on at a time and check in the headset's Treadmill Manager to identify them.

Go to Settings > Device > Device Information and change the radio channel from the default value, as shown below:

You must then pair the trackers for that Omni to update their radio channel setting. Do this by pressing and holding the sync button on your Omni One for two seconds (the Omni's LED should start flashing quickly), and then do the same with the sync button on each foot tracker (their LEDs should also flash quickly).

If you have more than two Omni Ones, manually connect to each of your additional treadmills using your headset, so that you can give them each a unique radio channel number as shown above. Remember to pair the trackers for each Omni after you do this. It’s recommended to label the trackers and the Omni to which they are paired, to avoid mixing them up.

Further, if you are using the Omnis for wireless PCVR:

1] Use one PC for each Omni (don’t attempt to run multiple games at once from the same PC).

2] Use either a wired LAN connection between the PCs and a single (capable) router, or a wired LAN between each PC and its own dedicated router – you should configure the settings on your router and in your streaming software to ensure a consistently high frame rate in the headset, to prevent nausea (some advanced routers may be capable of delivering a high frame rate without a wired LAN).

3] Ensure that each PC only connects to its designated Omni One by editing the Omni Connect settings file on each PC. If you have not already done so, you will need to unhide its root folder (ProgramData). To unhide it, from your main drive (usually C:) select the three-dots symbol to bring up folder settings and check this option in Options > View > Advanced Settings:

Then select 'Apply' and 'OK.'

Once unhidden, go to: [Your drive, usually C:]\ProgramData\Virtuix\OmniConnect\Settings and open settings.txt.

Replace ‘0’ after ‘DefaultOmni’ with your Omni One serial number (e.g. OmniOne-000011), which is found in your Omni One headset settings or the product sticker on the Omni One base. Then, save the file and restart Omni Connect if it is running. Do this for each Omni and PC. To disable this setting (allowing Omni Connect to automatically pair with the first Omni One it detects), replace the serial number with ‘0’ again.

4] On the PC, run Omni Connect and make sure that you're logged in. If you have the Omni One headset and it's powered on, it doesn't matter if it reads as disconnected - the connection will switch to PCVR when you activate PC streaming from the headset (if it does not, ensure that you have set up the dongle correctly).

5] Run the PC-to-headset streaming software (if you are not using a wired Vive / Valve headset), and select your connection mode (wired / wireless) if prompted by the software.

6] Run Steam and launch SteamVR (unless you are using Meta Quest and Air Link, in which case do not launch SteamVR from the PC). With wireless PCVR, your headset may not show as connected in SteamVR at this time - this is fine, and the Omni One graphic does not need to be illuminated either.

7] In the headset, ensure that you’ve connected to the correct network (the same network that your PC is on).

8] Also in the headset, run the PC-to-headset streaming software. If you have multiple PCs on the same network, select the correct PC. SteamVR may launch automatically. Otherwise, select the option to launch SteamVR.

9]  Make sure that your headset’s boundary is centered around the treadmill, and its floor setting is set to the level of the base, then calibrate and launch the game.

10] Ensure that your game's settings are correctly configured and that movement is working. Visit this page for game-specific guidance on supported games.
